About Me

My photo
I am in my 20's and a passionate student, majoring in Psychology. I was born and brought up in Germany, moved around about 4923 times and recently moved in with my lovely boyfriend Mr. Bubbles (no that is not his actual petname), who affectionately shares the space in my green Bubble.

I am a raging, almost melodramatic observant, who picks up on body language and gestures like no other. I love to spending my days out and about and observe anything that comes my way, just so I can report it to whoever is around me.

True Blood ... Are you serious?

Every other day some new series hits daylight. I can't even keep up with half of them. The lastest series people rave about is True Blood. After having listened to people saying stuff like "Oh watch it, you will love it! It's just your thing" and "Wow, it's so much better than Twilight", I decided that this must be the next exciting series to follow. I got myself the first episode of True Blood and went right ahead.

Gosh by about 22 minutes I was so bored out of my behind that I had a hard time finishing the rest of the episode. Main focus is obviously sex, which -yes, correct, is the case with a lot of series and movies, but this one is so explicit. It really felt like I was watching porn, just with a bit more background story. Seriously? I am watching series to get some holiday entertainment, not to watch people having sex! Besides that the characters are super boring. The vampire has zero charisma and did not change his facial expression once throughout the entire episode (fine you wanna make him look anti social and different from "humans"? Yes yes, but don't make him look like hes completely bored and doesn't wanna be there) while the main actress has a very distracting gap between her 2 front teeth (which btw annoyed me in that other duck movie of hers) and she doesn't walk but runs across the set in an extremely naive way that makes her hair bounce in the worst possible way.

Twilight vs. True Blood ?

Yes the obvious difference, Twilight was directed at the younger audiences, while True Blood is MA and rated R. Although Twilight may be a bit shallow here and there and people argued it was not realistic and for youngsters only, I quite enjoyed it precisely because it focused a lot on the innocence and naivety of teenagers and depicted love from a very pure angle. Besides I still strongly believe it is a very original and unique story that had me captured personally from page 1 onwards.

Upshot: Twilight wins by far !!! Even though it may not be all out with regards to sex, it certainly created suspense and pulled my heartstrings fairly well, whereas the story line of True Blood is extremly primitive, while one has attempted to make it remotely interesting by adding in some explicit sex scene (besides, so many of the True Blood scenes were taken straight out Twilight i.e.: Vampire standing underneath "victims" window at night.)
