About Me

My photo
I am in my 20's and a passionate student, majoring in Psychology. I was born and brought up in Germany, moved around about 4923 times and recently moved in with my lovely boyfriend Mr. Bubbles (no that is not his actual petname), who affectionately shares the space in my green Bubble.

I am a raging, almost melodramatic observant, who picks up on body language and gestures like no other. I love to spending my days out and about and observe anything that comes my way, just so I can report it to whoever is around me.

Goji Berries

I met with a couple of friends the other day and one of them introduced me to these very bizzare "Goji Berries" (zu Deutsch: Chinesische Wolfsbeere/Gemeiner Teufelszwirn). They are tiny little red berries, much like those:

But when bought in packs as a snack they are dried and look more like this:

Apparently their occurrence stretches from South East Europe up to China. It's quite ironic, because these berries have been used in India, Tibet and China for over 6000 years and I only hear about them now. Very little research has been done on their long term effects, but the little research conducted suggested that they are very high in antioxidants and known to:
  • Protect the liver.
  • Help eyesight.
  • Improve sexual function and fertility *rawr* :P.
  • Strengthen legs.
  • Boost the immune system.
  • Improve overall function.
The ones we tried were covered in dark chocolate and tasted absolutely awesome. They tasted tangy, slighty sour and sweet and reminded me of raisins or cranberries. So even if the benefiting properties above were all crap, they still tasted awesome and were definitely worth trying. Goji Berry juice is produced as well, which is relatively expensive. But I guess that's not actually surprising, after all producing Goji Berry juice requires heaps of Goji Berries :P

So anyway, in case anyone comes across them in the health shops or something, let me know i would love to buy some myself.

Song of the day:
OMC: How bizzare
