"Love, love is a verb
Loves is a doing word
Fearless on my breath
Gentle impulsion
Shakes me, makes me lighter
Fearless on my breath
Teardrop on the fire
Fearless on my breath"

A song for which everyones brain has to have formed a melody schema. Teardrop. If it hasn't, now is the time to. I have pulled out 3 versions - and I am sure that there are more, but these are my favourite 3 versions for various reasons, which I'll get to later.
Here is the original version of "Teardrop" by Massive Attack, produced in 1998.
Characteristics: Awesomely flowy, loungy and originally abstract. Trip Hop genre.
A good while after Massive Attack, Jose Gonzalez decided to pop out a cover version of "Teardrop" in 2007.
Characteristics: Awesomely folky, made it his own and very different from the loungy nature. Almost reminds me of some of my favourite tracks written in the late 60s, but I guess a good guitary song never gets boring no matter the era. Folk genre.
Finally, my currently favourite version of "Teardrop", which I discovered little while ago, is the highly inspiring one by Newton Faulkner, also covered in 2007.
Characteristics: Hmmm, lots of feeling, not much to say, just sit back and enjoy. Pop/rock, acoustic, folk genre.

Jeff Buckley: Hallelujah
