Britney Spears ...
... I have neglected the fact that I went to her concert entirely. I initially didn't even want to go, but Random Elmi had me convinced eventually. After all, the tickets were only $50. So that was quite cheap. Anyway we go there, it was all quite empty actually. I was slightly annoyed that it was standing, but whatever. I figured that my flatmate was there too so I called and I even spotted her. She was ALL the way at the other end of the concert hall, yay for my eyes. She on the other hand wasn't wearing glasses and couldn't see me ... or the stage?
We were there in time, all let it, waiting for Britney to come on stage. False alarm. Dj Havana Brown came on stage. Who? Yea! Dj Havana Brown of course!!! (whoever that is).
So this Dj was Havana-ing around for about an hour, until the countdown for Britney Spears started.
After 24:44 minutes, she took at least another 15 minutes to come on stage, because her dancers did a bit of a perfomance, but oh well after all, it was a circus theme so whatever. One of those dancers was a legless girl. I totally think it's great that Britney isn't discriminiating, but since I don't often see a girl with no legs and then doing stunts like these ... yes it was a bit morbid on the eye.
And finalllyyyyy Britney came on stage or should I say was "let down onto the stage". She was lowered onto a stage in this metal cage..... Wait a minute. This means she must have been stuck up there in the air for the longest time and none of us paid attention to THAT, because we all looked at the stage. Hmm interesting.
Anyhow, here she is with her little once-upon-a-time baby bump and I guess you could argue that she didn't look too great. I mean yes she did have a better body before her babies, but hey! kids are bound to leave a mark. Also, everyone complained about her lip synching. I mean SERIOUSLY try and fidget around like that and try to sing properly. People want to see a perfect show and listen to cd quality singing, which isn't happening. Realistically, if she had sung live and jumped around like this, it would have sounded terrible and people would have left too. However, I did get annoyed that it was all so impersonal. Usually, the artists includes the audience and address them, but this one just rushed on stage did her thing and rushed off. But ironically did want us to cheer. I mean Britney, you can't expect us to cheer if you don't even pay attention to us.
Verdict: I liked her show. I didn't pay a fortune, was closer to the stage than I ever was before and had a good time. I got to see her and that's it. Thanks Random Elmi for pressuring me to come.
