No more privacy! I feel stalked! I feel like my personal space has been invaded .. intruded ... just like that! I can no longer just go to the library at night unnoticed.
I was sitting there with my friends in the 24/7 learning common in the "food only" area (where I have always assumed that people can just talk freely). We were trying to study away in this little corner. I was sitting with my back against the wall, above my head, a 21 inch screen showing a WWE game. Being with a whole group of guys, it was almost impossible to get them to study and so they were happily talking away anyway and when another dude popped by who "just wanted to sit there so he could use the powerpoint", but started talking about "Dwarf porn" instead, I decided that it was time to put an end to my study and joined the chat. In the meantime, there was this chick behind us who was apparently trying to study in the "food only" area (?! I'm not so sure why anybody would want to do that, because it's naturally the loudest area ... this time it was us who made it loud). Eventually, she must have gotten so incredibly annoyed that she came over to our table, tapped my friend on his shoulder and said "I'm trying to study. Be quiet" in quite a forceful way. I really didn't pay much attention to it. I think deep down in side I was more surprised about her wanting to study in the loudest area in the entire place. Anyway, I didn't mind, fair enough she wanted to shush us, that's cool with me. My friend who she was talking to apparently felt the same and he apologized to her and I secretly expected her to bugger off, but instead she chose to do something super weird. She fully stood up, stared straight at me and pointed her finger at me (I seriously felt personally insulted, because that's just NOT very acceptable behaviour according to me anyway) and said quite rudely "and SHE (...pointing at me) ... SHE complained last week about it being too loud and now SHE is the one making noise" (quick refresher at this point, I didn't initiate the complaint last week at all, I merely stared into the guys direction and he asked me what my problem was and so I let him know what my problem was and besides ... do I look like I would even come up with an entire conversation about Dwarf porn? I don't think so. So I really didn't know why I was picked out by her so specifically, when it was an entire group? What did I do to be picked out?). I was totally perplexed and just turned to my friend and said "wow I'm famous".

Retrospectively, I actually feel incredibly weird about the fact that some chick (I didn't even look at her so I still don't know who she is) "knows me" or at least knows that I exist and I don't even remember seeing her EVER and in addition to that she even remembers something that I did!

I somehow don't feel entirely comfi returning to that 24/7 learning common now at all anymore. Maybe I should take up McDan's offer and go to the uni library he always goes to.
... Since I'm already going down that road ... just imagine I have stalkers (YES YOU! BLOODY STALKER!) who actually read my blog, who don't know me and then whenever they see me in the library they go "ohh there she issss". EUW!
Libary-ing has become such a commercial thing ... I feel like the actual purpose of going to the library has been lost.
