WOW! WHAT A GAME!
I am fully aware that I keep posting and talking about all these soccer games these days, but HEY! It's the ultimate set of games of all ultimate sets of games ...
I just returned from the rather empty restaurant that I watched the legendary 2 teams Germany and England play against each other. Seeing Germany play over the last couple of games, I actually wasn't very hopeful at all and pretty much prepared myself to go home with a sad face. However, it all turned out to be entirely different and we won. WE WON. WWEEEEE WOOOONNNN.
The highlight of this game? 100%, the repetition of the Wembley goal 1966.
THE SOCCER WORLDCUP!
(DUHH!!!... you would need to live under a rock, not to know that really!)

This was clearly NOT a goal. Neither referees saw the "goal", but decided that it was indeed a goal, which benefitted England and lead to their glorious worldcup final winning!
Tonight, we had a similar situation. Germany was at 2:1, when the instance occurred. The english player Upson gained control of the ball and sent the ball into the German goal, scoring 2:2 ... or so they thought ....
The replay clearly shows that this actually was a goal. Instead, neither the referee nor his assistant saw it and it was NOT counted as a goal. England angry and defeated, Germany's confidence boosted and on the rise. The final score: 4:1 for Germany! I guess history does repeat itself and what goes around does come around after all.
We are playing the winner of the Mexico vs. Argentinia match next saturday *prays for Germany*.
