I reached New York sometime in the evening, but since the immigration lines were so incredibly terrible, it all took a little longer than it was supposed to. Nonetheless, TDH waited sweetly at the airport and took me to dinner. Conveniently, the other 3 buggers were out, which gave us some time to chit chat. I slept like a log that night, especially after that good mexican dinner.
I was hoping for Day 1 to be a quiet one, but I guess that didn't happen at all. After I woke up, we were headed straight to the Statue of Liberty. However, we were cheapskates and just took the ferry over to Staten Island (randdddommm place I must say. Lots of freaaakkkyyy people) and drove past the Statue of Liberty. After all going onto the little island where the Statue stands, costs HEAPS and you can't really see it. You can just stare at it from below, but don't really see it in all its glory. Now that I think of it, I regret not going onto the island. Oh well, I'm going back there in 2 weeks maybe I can do it then.
At night, I was dragged into a Broadway play with Scarlett Johanssen and this other famous actor whose name I forgot. I think he played in erm.... Wolverine? (... no not Hugh Jackman). Apparently, it was supposed to be a good play, but I just slept STRAIGHT through. I was that tired.
Mentally, I still haven't reached yet. I just feel so in awe 99% of the time that I can't take it all in and so my brain just shuts off.
PS.: The place we are staying at is illegally subletted to us and we can hear "mice having sex in the walls"? *muhahahaha* I'm not kidding. But maybe it's just the hot water pipes? Who knows.
