About Me

My photo
I am in my 20's and a passionate student, majoring in Psychology. I was born and brought up in Germany, moved around about 4923 times and recently moved in with my lovely boyfriend Mr. Bubbles (no that is not his actual petname), who affectionately shares the space in my green Bubble.

I am a raging, almost melodramatic observant, who picks up on body language and gestures like no other. I love to spending my days out and about and observe anything that comes my way, just so I can report it to whoever is around me.

Day 12: Harvard

Today I felt like this Boston place was really boring. I mean after New York, pretty much any other city is boring and slow. After all, (according to some security guy at the NY airport,) a New Yorker minute lasts 3 seconds. What other city could possibly beat that.

Boston is pretty, relatively European. The breakfast, not American at all, no bacon, no sausages, no potatoes, no omlettes in sight. Thank goodness for that! BUT that's the only good thing, other than that it's BORING! Shops close at 5 pm compared to like 10, 11ish pm in Manhattan. Nonetheless, I feel safe on the roads even when shops are closed. Maybe I wouldn't exactly run around by myself at night, but it's ok like this.

It was snowing outside and absolutely magical. They have little christmas tree lights wrapped all around the trees down alleys in Boston, which makes it really pretty. Anyhow, so we were there and we just had to go see Harvard. FYI, when I think of Harvard, I think big impressive buildings and smart people all around me. We took the train to Harvard, and the station just looked incredibly boring. I thought the station may be exciting in some ways too, after all its HARVARD. We went around the place and couldn't really find it, until we figured one of those random buildings must be it. We went inside some building to ask the lady at the "help desk" some questions on what buildings would be the most interesting ones and she was quite rude and reckoned there weren't any for us to see. *snort* *okiiiiiiiii*

We ran around and eventually decided to see the Law buildings. The Langdell library was quite prestigious, but I still would have imagined an impressive campus and what not, when in reality, we found blackboards with extra tutor help and what not. It is just another university after all where not everyone seems to be super smart. The entire campus was covered in snow, which turned out to be the best place for a snowball fight. The building-boredom stimulated our randomity and so we had a snowball fight, right outside the Law library.

Later, we spoke to someone and we found out that the Harvard Museum bears rare glass flowers, made my 2 German dudes, so fragile that no one else but the artists themselves were able to fix them. We missed a seemingly great piece of art?

Thats ok. Personally, I will remember Harvard as the University, where I had a snowball fight with my boyfriend in front of the Law library. *yay* I think I can deal with that trade of in memory creation.
